Í hljóði – A portrait of a building
“Í hljóði” was infact a portrait of the building the exhibition took place in called “Ketilhúsið” in Akureyri.
The house has a huge window on its frontal side… like eyes in a face. The work was based on catching the images seen through the eye (window) and seen reflected on it on the outside and on the inside. I stacked 40 glass plates on the opposite wall of the window on the inside catching the outside view. People moving up and down the church steps across the street, different wether changing the atmosphere and birds and planes flying across the sky, got combined with the internal structure of the building. On the outside I recorded on video the church floating on the window as I passed by.
